1.Participation in the Festival is open to everyone who registers on this site in compliance with the conditions. Applications may be made only through the website and become complete and official with acceptance of the preliminary contract conditions.

2.The festival organisers roster the applications to the venue and time judged most suitable taking into account the technical parameters given at the time of registration. The place and time set by the organisers can be changed only in very justified cases, through co-ordination in person or by phone, with the final decision to be made by the organisers (up to January 15, 2008).

3.Anyone who registers may perform at the Budapest Fringe Festival, but the time and places available are limited. To enable us to accept the greatest possible number of productions at the festival, a company may submit an application for only one production per genre.

4.In the genre in which they won, winners of prizes at the previous two festivals may participate only with productions outside the competition.

5.When registering and planning the programme it must be kept in mind that one of the basic elements of a successful festival is the very precise respect of the time limitations. Please take into account the generally specified times for performances and for building/setting up and dismantling:

·in the case of theatre, dance theatre productions and performances, the performance time is a maximum of 60 minutes, the setting up time a maximum of 50 minutes, the dismantling time a maximum of 30 minutes;

·in the case of concerts the performance time is a maximum of 40 minutes, the sound setting a maximum of 20 minutes, the clearing a maximum of 20 minutes.

The Budapest Festival Center Kht. signs a contract with all participants. The data and times (duration of setting up, performance, any interval, dismantling) approved at the time of signing the contract are final and departure from them is not allowed. If the time limit is exceeded the organisers will halt the performance.

6.The Festival provides the venue for the performance with service facilities, basic technical equipment of professional quality, general promotion of the festival, and a programme booklet printed in 50,000 copies.

7.The basic technical equipment that can be provided in the individual venues varies. At the time of registration the organisers will take into account the technical requirements as far as possible, but it may happen that the Festival is not able to provide all the technical equipment required at the venue allocated.

8.To be included in the programme booklet the following must be uploaded at the time the application is made, no later than December 15, 2007.

·a text about the ensemble/performer not exceeding 350 characters

·a text about the performance not exceeding 500 characters

·a photo of printing quality, min. 300 dpi, 7x7 cm

9.To facilitate the work of the jury at the festival, the organisers request ensembles to provide audio material and/or a video recording. In the case of light music productions, uploading audio material is a condition for application and participation! The recordings can be uploaded in the format given on the registration page on the website, or sent on CD or DVD by post or in person to the office of the Budapest Festival Center (H-1052 Szervita tér 5.) at the same time as the application no later than December 15, 2007.

10.The Budapest Fringe Festival is an independent, non-political artistic event open in content. Any manifestation with political content, inciting, violating the personal rights or sensitivities of others will bring exclusion from the festival.
